Asset Acceptance is really trying my patience. They finally responded to my request for validation as the deadline was near. What they sent was garbage. In fact it was the same garbage they originally sent and called it “validation”. The bad thing for them as that this was not listed on my credit reports until I asked for validation. During the time it was in dispute,they reported the account to all 3 credit reporting agencies. This is a big no no. I am going to prepare an intent to sue letter citing their violations. One thing about it is that I am not in fear of them suing me for the debt because I will have what is called an affirmative defense in that it is past the statute of limitations. I am going to send them an intent to sue letter in hopes that they will just go ahead and delete the TL off the credit reports and cease collection efforts. It is possible that they are stubborn enough not to bow down to the letter, but they really have nothing to gain by not conforming. If they don’t then I will go ahead and sue them. Put a little extra cash in my pocket and my attorney’s pocket.
